On January 24, 1931 the bank received its charter from the federal Comptroller of the Currency and is entirely owned by the CNB Corporation. Since that time, CNB has served the people and the communities of Cheboygan and over time added seven branch locations; Onaway, Mackinaw City, Pellston, Indian River; 2005 Alanson; during the fall of 2013 we opened a loan office in the heart of downtown Gaylord and in August 2015 opened a full service branch in downtown Petoskey.

Citizens National Bank is in the same location as when it originally opened doors in Cheboygan. However through the years the bank has purchased surrounding buildings both to the north and west and incorporated them into the existing structure which continues to house the main office.
